Creating an Apple ID Without a Credit Card

Apple doesn't make it easy to create an Apple ID without a credit card but here are the steps you can use.  You must follow these instructions exactly.

These steps are important, especially for student Apple ID creation.

1. Go to the App Store and find a free app on your iPad.
2. Attempt to download the free app and it will prompt you to sign in with an existing Apple ID or Create a New Apple ID.  Select Create a New Apple ID.  You can't do this if you have already created an Apple ID so it is important that you create the Apple ID in this order.
3. Follow the instructions for setup and when you get to the step where you enter your credit card information, it will give you an option to select "None."
